Meet the People Behind Laundini — Updated

By Timothy Oommen, Owner — Laundini Laundromat | laundinilaundromat.com

Teams evolve. Here’s where we actually stand — and who we’re looking for next.

Timothy Oommen — Founder, Owner & Marketing

That’s me. I build the websites, run the delivery operation, handle the marketing, write this blog, and do whatever the day requires — including driving the van when needed.

I’ve genuinely enjoyed the blogging process more than I expected. Writing about this business has clarified how I think about it. So I’m taking on social media and content myself for now. A lot to learn in very little time. But that’s how everything worth doing has started for me.

Sonu — Software, Website, App & Communications

Let me tell you something about Sonu that I think matters.

He recently said thank you for the opportunity — unprompted. Then he suggested we have daily calls. Then he told me he had been thinking about laundry delivery for a while before we started working together.

That last part stopped me. He wasn’t just helping me build something. He was already thinking about the same problem I was trying to solve. That kind of alignment is rare. I mean genuinely rare — not “hard to find” rare but “most people never find it” rare.

Sonu builds and maintains everything digital at Laundini. The booking system, the website, the app, the operational tech. He responds to messages at unreasonable hours and generates ideas at a pace that keeps the operation moving forward even when everything else is chaotic. Friend of a friend who became genuinely central to how this works.

Robin — Financials

My cousin. Recently arrived from India, fresh out of a commerce program and on his way to becoming a chartered accountant. He wanted an opportunity. I gave him one. He’s 23, trainable, family, and I can see the same hunger in him that I recognize from building this myself.

Early days. High expectations. We’re figuring it out together.

The Role We Are Actively Hiring For

I’ll be direct.

I am looking for one person. Maybe two. The kind of person who reads a blog like this one at midnight and feels something — recognition, energy, the specific hunger that comes from seeing someone else build something and knowing you could do it too.

Here is what I am not looking for: someone who leads with their rate. Someone who asks about hours before they ask about the work. Someone who wants a job rather than a stake in something.

Here is what I am looking for:

You think about laundry delivery at 2am not because you have to but because you can’t stop. You have a chip on your shoulder and something to prove. You are, in the best possible way, a little unhinged about building things. You want to call me, text me, email me — not to ask about compensation but because you have an idea and you need to get it out.

The work is operations, delivery, marketing, growth — whatever the day requires. There is no fixed job description because the business is still being built and the person who fits this role will help build it.

Here is what I am offering:

Learn the business from the inside. Show progress. Get paid — and paid well once the progress is visible. I am willing to pay an advance for the right person. I am open to discussing perks beyond salary — housing, healthcare, equity conversations down the line — for someone who is genuinely committed.

Show me your track record. Show me what you have built or tried to build. Show me that you have thought about this more than the average person thinks about their commute.

This will make or break the company. I am not being dramatic. The right person in this role accelerates everything. The wrong person costs more than I can afford to lose.

If you think it’s you — prove it.
